The short version

html2wp.dev locally converts a static site into a complete WordPress block theme.

WPPasteKit turns your original AI-generated HTML into a complete WordPress site with shared elements and content fields, from €49 once.

Choose html2wp.dev for a local theme export; choose WPPasteKit to work directly inside WordPress without switching themes.

Two approaches

html2wp.dev

html2wp.dev turns a static site into a WordPress block theme ZIP. You use a macOS or Windows desktop app, or a plugin for Claude Code or Codex. Inputs include an HTML folder, ZIP or exports from tools such as Lovable, Bolt, v0, Next.js, Vite and Astro. Conversion runs locally and requires Docker Desktop, software that runs the necessary environment on your computer, plus a ChatGPT account. It consumes allowance from your own ChatGPT subscription. The provider says it preserves the HTML structure and turns menus, headers, footers, forms and blog posts into real WordPress elements. It also includes a conversion report and Visual Edit for content.

WPPasteKit

WPPasteKit works as a plugin with any theme, the standard package that determines your site’s design and layouts. There is no need to switch themes. “Make this my site” separates a complete design into a header, the shared top section, page content and a footer, the shared bottom section. Those shared elements also appear on the blog, archives and 404 page. A builder is a visual environment for assembling pages; WPPasteKit does not require an extra one.

Your navigation becomes a real WordPress menu, and your news cards can display real posts. Editors get a separate screen for content, images and repeatable rows, while raw HTML remains available only to administrators. You still write ordinary blog posts in Gutenberg, WordPress’s standard editor.

Three practical situations

You want to do most of the work inside WordPress

html2wp.dev requires a local conversion environment with Docker and a ChatGPT account. WPPasteKit works inside your WordPress installation, where you paste or import design code. You create that code in your preferred AI tool.

The design needs a new layout

With html2wp.dev, design changes require another theme conversion, while routine content uses Visual Edit. WPPasteKit lets you paste new design code without installing a new theme and gives clients a separate content screen.

You compare costs for one business website

Beyond five free conversions, html2wp.dev offers a Pro subscription with unlimited conversions and WooCommerce. WPPasteKit Individual is €49 once for one live site. Those offers cover different needs, so compare websites, conversions and shop features as well as the price.

When should you choose html2wp.dev?

  • You want a standalone theme with real WordPress menus, forms and blogging from a local conversion.
  • You want framework exports as inputs, a conversion report or WooCommerce in Pro.
  • You want to use the free conversions and are comfortable with a local Docker setup.

When should you choose WPPasteKit?

  • You want to work inside WordPress without a local Docker environment.
  • You want to keep your current theme and paste later design revisions directly.
  • You do not need a WooCommerce integration and prefer a one-time licence.

Frequently asked questions

Can html2wp.dev also deliver a complete WordPress site?

Yes. Its offer includes real menus, headers, footers, forms and blog posts. The difference is local theme conversion versus working inside WordPress with any theme, not an absence of these site features.

Must I keep paying to use my theme?

No. Themes created with html2wp.dev remain yours after cancellation. A WPPasteKit site also keeps working without renewal; only updates and support stop after the included period.

Which tool supports WooCommerce?

html2wp.dev lists WooCommerce in Pro. WPPasteKit has no dedicated WooCommerce integration. That is a relevant distinction for an online shop.

Can I move from html2wp.dev to WPPasteKit?

If you have the original HTML/CSS from your AI design, optionally with JavaScript and related assets, you can paste or import it into WPPasteKit and click “Make this my site”. WPPasteKit does not turn widgets or builder blocks back into HTML. This is not a promise of automatic migration of every existing page, setting or content item; check those separately.

Do I have to keep paying for WPPasteKit?

No. Individual costs €49 once for one live site; Agency costs €149 once for twenty live sites. Twelve months of updates and support are included. Without optional renewal, the site keeps working but further updates and support stop. Prices as of 30 September 2026; they may have changed.
